CJC-1295 without DAC: the pulse peptide – and the naming chaos resolved

August 14, 2026

CJC-1295 without DAC, Mod GRF 1-29, modified GRF: 3 names for one molecule. The episode resolves the naming chaos and explains why many consider this short-lived peptide the most physiologically elegant route to more of the body’s own growth hormone.

What it is about

It starts with the body’s own GHRH, the signal for releasing growth hormone. Of its 44 building blocks, the first 29 suffice; as a drug, this shortened version was called sermorelin. Because it is broken down within minutes, researchers swapped 4 building blocks, and so Mod GRF 1-29 was created. The company ConjuChem attached an albumin anchor, the DAC, to it and called the result CJC-1295; the version without the anchor is a gray-market name. The episode explains why a short pulse is intended, how the combination with ipamorelin works and what speaks for the DAC variant. What remains is one molecule, 2 philosophies and 3 names, neatly sorted.

Key points

  • Of the 44 building blocks of the body’s own GHRH, the first 29 suffice for the effect; this shortened version is called GRF 1-29 and was approved in the US as sermorelin.
  • Mod GRF 1-29 carries 4 substitutions: at position 2, a D-alanine blocks the degrading enzyme DPP-4; the other 3 stabilize the structure.
  • Without an albumin anchor, the peptide acts for only about 30 minutes; the short pulse is meant to amplify the natural waves, above all the large one in the first deep sleep.
  • In 2006, Ionescu and Frohman described in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism that pulsatile release is preserved under a GHRH analog.
  • Insulin and growth hormone are antagonists: carbohydrates shortly before administration measurably dampen the pulse, and late eating also suppresses the natural night-time pulse.
  • The scene measures IGF-1 before and after a few weeks and uses deep-sleep minutes from the sleep tracker as an early indicator; with the short pulses, IGF-1 rises more moderately.
  • As a report: users mention flushing and a feeling of warmth after the injection, occasionally head pressure and some water retention, and, in a stack with stronger GHRPs, also more hunger.

Where the data stop

Whether the short pulse variant is actually superior to the DAC version, the episode does not show: it presents 2 philosophies but cites no direct comparison in humans. The advantages, from better sleep to fine-tunability, rest on mechanism and user reports. Blood glucose and IGF-1 belong under medical supervision.

Mod GRF 1-29 is not approved as a medicine, as of August 2026, and is banned in sport. Much of mixed quality is sold under the name “CJC-1295 no DAC”; reputable suppliers give both names and provide a certificate of analysis. Anyone who claims that “CJC-1295 no DAC” and Mod GRF are different products does not know the chemistry. The strongest growth hormone boosters cost nothing: deep sleep, strength training and protein.
